A few more images of cyanobacteria: Here.
![]() P.S. -- The taxonomy of Cyanobacteria is under revision but there are several classes, several orders, several families and I have no idea how many different genera and species. And to complicate matters more, many botanists insist on calling it cyanophyta. I believe Cyanobacteria are still considered a division of the Kingdom Monera but they keep changing things.

Re: Cyano under a light microscope
Very cool site Ninong. Our lab instructor for Botany here at asu used cyanophyta a few times and it threw me off for a second but the Dr. in charge of the class used Cyanobateria.

Re: Cyano under a light microscope
Looks exactly like what I bring in for my students to look at! Although when I scrape that stuff off my glass, there's usually a million other things in there, too.
