Re: ok what do you think?

im not a pro yet, but with the reading ive been doing lately, you should have at least 60 watts of lighting for soft corals (assuming a 20 gallon tank), 100 watts would be better. if your using the stock hood light with a traditional flourecent light, ditch it.

and 20-40 lbs of live rock (probably more towards the 40), personaly i have 31 lbs in a 26 gallon and im getting atleast 10 more

and if i remember correclty, your tank is 4-5 weeks old? its not ready for coral, whats your tanks readings? ph temp nitrite nitrate ammonia calcium phospates alkalinity specific gravity?

Re: ok what do you think?

That light may be sufficient for some coral, it won't be for others and certainly is not appropriate for anemones. The tank is also not seasoned enough for an anemone and won't be for some time.

The tank is also not large enough as Scott was saying in another thread. Marine Depot's website says the oral disk can reach 20" in diameter. If not already, the fish by the time their full grown will also exceed the capacity of your tank.

Keep reading, you'll find most of your answers right here. Search "lfs" and you'll find many sad stories of lfs' saying whatever it takes to make the sale. It's rare to find an lfs that knows or will tell you what is truly best. A search of "protein skimmers" will probably yeild your other answer.

Read before you buy, you'll save alot of money.
Good luck
