I just really like to let it do its own thing.....the tank that is...

macroalgae reduces the available levels of phosphates and nitrites/nitrates, an excellent form of natural filtration.

true...but too much looks unsightly (especially for a reef tank). Am I mistaken, or are those two b/w ocellaris'?

You probably paid more for those two than half the tank-setup.

I know it's not just me but I'm gonna say it....Most of your 84 comments here have left a sour taste in my mouth. I have yet to see much about your personal experience or your systems. There is no question that you have done some reading but I think that's about it. What few arguments you have managed to start were quickly ended. You weren't able to back your side of it up with anything more than stammering nonsense. Most of us here are extremely friendly and easy going....some of us are actual friends so you might tone it down a little with the new guys and especially with the moderators.

Re: Just a pic of my tank...

Macro algae may be unsightly to some, but a nice addition to others. The thing about it is to make sure that it doesn't grow out of control as it can be problematic. In the good Dr.'s case, he keeps it under control and in fact, it looks nice growing around his soft corals.

Very nice!!! As far as the macro goes, as long as it can be held in check, or harvested, there is no reason not to have it. I think it looks good!!!

YOU want to see my SYSTEM(S)?! You seem more offended. Don't be. I admit I don't pad experience with a "factor of safety" since a great deal of it is more of the "wise-man" approach. BUTT, I will do one thing better. I'll post a video or two on youtube. Will that make you feel better?

I'm not going to lose sleep or anything over it I'm simply asking you to be more conscientious with your words. I received two pms from others here who felt that they shouldn't speak out because they haven't been around very long but thanked me for doing so.

Good for you. In that case...there's no reason for me to have to post a video or pic.

I don't want to get into the debate, but I did want to say that I used to have two black clowns in my tank, but have always had tangs. I WISH I could have natural macro grow like that out of my rocks, but instead my tangs keep it picked clean.

I have always liked the "natural" look. I thought I read a post referring to it looking "unnatural" but it's live rock and whatever is inside is.... natural.
