Yikes!!

I got my new RO/DI unit from Air, Water & Ice installed this morning and it is working great. The TDS meter that came with it is reading 0 now. The YIKES part comes from when I just tested the water I had been buying from the LFS. It is reading 74. My tap is only reading 63. Needless to say I just dumped all water that was left from LFS and have started running a batch to do a water change tonight. No wonder I couldn't get rid of the cyano.

Re: Yikes!!

Most of the time when you will be dealing with a sub par lfs that lets the filters on their RO/DI get awful before changing them. Then when this happens their vats are no longer "clean" and even when they change the filters you don't get pure water.

Wow.

So, I'm guessing when you get an RO/DI unit, a TDS meter is a must?

Darn it...more money needed now.

Re: Yikes!!

Ok so let me get this straight Tim!

Your unfiltered tap water has lower TDS (which means cleaner water) than your LFS's filtered water?

Just want to make sure I didnt eat a bowl of stoopid this mornin....cuz every once in a while I like a retard sandwich for lunch

I think alot of the problem is some of these LFS's let their RO/DI units go w/out cleaning/replacing the filters and the wastewater restrictors may become clogged thus reverse the effect they are meant to serve

Guess wat...they will probably keep doing it until some1 says something about it.
