I am another newbie. I have a 29 gallon tank with some LR (waiting for more from LFS). I have a few SPS corals, a yellowtail damsel, sea hair, clown, shrimp, only one cowrie snail and some caulerpa. Everything seems healthy but now I have this reddish brown algae growing on the sand and glass. How can I get rid of this? More snails? Hermit crabs? What kind? How many? Please help.

Oh, and here's another

I am realizing that my tank is just cycling. The algae is now green. Is purple next? I have to scrub the glass nearly every day. I ordered a skimmer and am hoping that it will help clean things up a little. I have kept up with water changes and checking water parameters and everything seems fine except for the algae. All livestock is healthy. I have noticed though that I have bubbles on the top of the water that do not pop. I guess the skimmer will take care of that problem.
