I lived in Lancaster, MA and in April 2 years ago went and it was WELL worth the trip :-)

I live in Cranston, RI - and go there at least once every summer (its nice in the summer because they have several outdoor exhibits).

I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The Boston aquarium is also very nice.
