Figure I just share some news I found for entertainment and time killing read for those at work. ![]() The only concern I have is the phrasing of the bill. I doubt they want to hurt business since business is taxed and brings in revenue...at the same time they dont want to hurt the environment. But do I want to give some government agency more power and "trust" them to apply that power reasonably? With how things are as of late.... I prefer a lot less socialistic governing ...I don't trust those pencil pushing vote panderers ... clearer rules and regs I would prefer... but meh... the knee jerk reaction by the news from that site is a bit overboard. Re: Saltwater industry under threat
This isn't as bad as some people would have you believe. I have nothing against this particular bill. In fact, I think some of the fish that are caught have no business in the aquarium industry. Obligatory cleaner wrasses don't live long enough in captivity and I personally would love it if they are never offered at the stores.
It's the personal thing, I suppose, just like clownfish being still caught in the wild when many of them are available bred in captivity. But, some people must have the rarest of them all and pay big bucks for it, too. So they go out and catch them without thinking how important they are ecologically.
