the tip of one of my colt corals branches got caught in the grill of a maxi jet 2 nights ago. i turned off the PH and carefully removed it - then moved the colt to another spot (i never thought he could reach THAT high!)... now he's not looking so good - seems slumped over and kind of sad looking hte last 48 hours. is he a gonner? all of my other corals are fine... what can i do?

Reefmack,
I've had that happen to one of my colt corals too. It was pretty mangled, the tip plus some! After a few days it started to come back and now is bigger then its ever been! They are pretty hardy corals in my experince with them.

that's good to hear... i'm worried about the little guy. I moved him too - so maybe he's trying to get adjusted to his new spot. What type of light/current to colt's generally prefer?

Well, I'm not sure what they prefer but I have two that are doing great!
One is on the bottom in the sand and the other is on a rock about 3/4 of the way down and almost reaches to the top. My tank is 24in deep with a 4"DSB. I have about 450watts of PC lighting over them and they are in low-medium flow.
