Help carpet anenome
My carpet anemone is excreting this white cloudy looking stuff, his mouth is still open quite a bit. Water parameters are perfect, lighting 6 watt per gallon. He is eating, I’ve had him a coupe of weeks now. Any one know what this cloudy stuff is?

Re: Help carpet anenome
Those look to be mesenteries(septal filaments) from it;s gut, which tells me that this animal is in serious trouble. You've said that it is eating, can you tell what exactly it ate/injested? Also, please list your salinity/temperature if you don;t mind. I am sure your tank is in good condition chemistry-wise but this animals are very sensitive to the salinities and temperature changes, and don;t tolerate strong currents all that much. Good but gentle flow, deep sand bed to burry it;s foot is what S.haddoni likes.

Re: Help carpet anenome
Is it still sticky? This type of anemone should be very sticky to the touch. Unfortunately yours does not look long for this world
They require metal halide lighting and regular feedings of whole fish (like silversides). I tried to keep a blue one under VHO's. It was on a large rock a few inches from the water surface. After a little over a year it slowly began to shrink and lose most of its stickiness. I moved it to another tank 16" deep with 400W halides but it was too late. Now I have a green one that I moved and soon as I noticed it began to lose the stickiness. It has been fine for a couple of years now. Here are some of the parameters they have done well under for me: SPG 1.024-1.026. Temperature 76F-81F. PH 8.1 - 8.3 Alkalinity 7-9 dKH Calcium 350-420ppm Feeding a minimum of 3 times a week. HTH, Kevin PS: At higher salinity 1.027+ they begin to move around and look upset by shrinking and gaping. They will also (if healthy) climb the sides of the tank at 1.029ish.
