Can anyone tell me the types of rocks that look "most" differetn from Fiji Ultra Premium/Premium I got from ffexpress.com? I'm trying to order more rocks, but would like to get a different origin/kind of rock.
Please reply. Regards, Ilham |

Hi Elmo18,
I was curious about the different types of LR out there myself so I ordered a few different kinds recently from Jeffs Exoctic Fish Place: Tonga Branch - Looks like tree branches, very light Tonga Shelf - Is a flat piece of rock, like a shelf or table top. Good for making underpasses and bridges. Vanisini - Not sure how to describe this one, but it looks like fiji, I think, has lots of color and lots of holes. HTH CaptK |

captain K..sorry but Vanisi looks like Fiji? The Vanisi I got from Jeff's is very cool - it almost resembles a rock version of coral. Heres a pic of some of the Vanisi I got...
HTH. Mine had alot of color on some of the pieces - would I get it again instead of Fiji....thats a good question. I would say yes only because the rock is so cool looking - all my friends love it more then the Fiji... ------------------ Local Fish Store = Aquarists Toy Store... |

I also got my shipment of Vanisi lr from Jeff's yesterday and all I can say is WOW!!!! WHAT COLORS!! I also have lr from Monono, Solomon Isands and imo the Vanisi has so many different colors, including orange, red, purple, blue and green. Plus he has a sale on it for $115 for a 45lb box.

Thanks for the tip guys. I just ordered a 45lb box of Vanisi from Jeff's Exoticfish.com for $115.00. That price isn't shown in the sales page, but instead shown in the page which has pictures of the Vanisi. Looks to be a good deal. Will end up costing the same as the ffexpress.com 45lb box Walt Smith Fiji since they charge an extra $10 on shipping. I can't wait to see them and compare it to the Fiji rocks.

One small warning I forgot to mention. It is UNCURED(and smelly). So you must have a curing tank/tub ready. But VERY colorful.

Although it is dense, aquacultured rock has the most life then ANY pacific rock i have EVER seen (and yes, i have seen paragon sale's rock, very nice for pacific, but no where near as diverse as atlantic rock). www.gulf-view.com or tampabay are two reputable dealers that I have heard of, there may be others.
