Anthias name
Several months ago while visiting a different LFS, I happened to notice a really beautiful anthias species. Unfortunately, I didn't think I'd ever be seriously thinking about getting these fish, so I didn't bother to write it down. But... as everyone who is really into this hobby knows, the madness keeps growing. So my question is:
Can anyone give me the name of this fish? I haven't found it on any major MO website. I know that the common name starts with an "e" and I think it has a couple of "i"s somewhere. (Erickii? Evanskii? I can't remember!) It is primarily yellow and pink, feathery fins, and more rounded than some of the anthias I have seen. And if anyone out there is familiar with this fish, are there any special issues to be aware of? Thanks in advance. |

Evansi Anthias?
(Mirolabrichthys evansi) Yellow top half (which also covers the entirety of the tail) and pink or purple lower half.

Thanks! I am pretty sure I was looking for the name Pseudoanthias evansi. That's a great database. Just curious about the different genus name Mirolabrichthys - is this this same fish? (Taxonony gets tricky when there is a debatable subject.)
Thanks again! |
