The Algae Big Problem
The tank has been running for a long time now , but the only problem is that the back glass of my tank is covered with different nasty algae What can I do to get rid of the algae without taking out the rocks and scrabe it off... Thanks alot.. Mark |

How about an algae blennie? Or some macro algae to compete for available nutrients?More frequent water changes would also help. Add a powerhead to increase circulation in that specific area.Trochus snails are also wonderful cleaners.

I scrape the back glass occasionally with a plastic credit card. My back glass is painted, and doesn't seem to accumulate nearly as much algae as the front and sides.

I used to have quite a few of these problems....UNTIL i put a refugium in But if you want to go another route then the above are good tips.....You should try to identify the algae...maybe a pic for us? and that way there might be a specific clean up crew member that would be able to attack the algae ![]()
