Back Glass-Algae Big Problem..

The Algae Big Problem

The tank has been running for a long time now , but the only problem is that the back glass of my tank is covered with different nasty algae

What can I do to get rid of the algae without taking out the rocks and scrabe it off...

How about an algae blennie? Or some macro algae to compete for available nutrients?More frequent water changes would also help. Add a powerhead to increase circulation in that specific area.Trochus snails are also wonderful cleaners.

I scrape the back glass occasionally with a plastic credit card. My back glass is painted, and doesn't seem to accumulate nearly as much algae as the front and sides.

I used to have quite a few of these problems....UNTIL i put a refugium in

But if you want to go another route then the above are good tips.....You should try to identify the algae...maybe a pic for us? and that way there might be a specific clean up crew member that would be able to attack the algae
