55g or 75g
my parents said that they didn't know which tank they should get me, so they just gave me money, I'm wondering if I should get a 75g instead of a 55g, I have a couple of reasons, it would let me get more fish, it would be easier for my dad to maintain when I'm at collage, and it would let me keep my yellow tang in reletive comfort. So is price worth the extra 20g you get? thanks all

Yup
And it's not just the extra water, it's the extra 6" of width.

Exactly!
I think that a 55 is only good for FO tanks and sumps. FAR too narrow, IMO. Mark

I would go for the extra width, if I didnt have a custom built stand I would have gone with the 75. I have plenty of room for aquascaping and sps but not alot of sandbed left for clams.

well looks like I'm gone have to wait even longer to set up the tank if I get the 75, but I really want to have a clam or 3, plus my yellow tang, so I guess 75g here I come

Always go for the added width. I have a 55+ show tank which is only 12" wide, and I really wish I had more of a footprint for rock work. Hoods and lights are also much easier to configure with the added width.

75 are so much wider and more luxurious! 55's are the worst size tank available (due to it's dimensions) - just my opinion!

The center of a 72 bow front is 18" wide at the widest point.

While you're going bigger a 90 gal. is the same footprint as a 75.
Food for thought. David
