okay, i bought 200lbs of silica reaaaaallly fine grain sand that I used on my 25 gallon. I will mix that with about 60 pounds of Carib Sea Aragamax. Now, i have just rocks in my tank. When I take out the rocks, do i have to take out the debris from the rocks that are in the bottom of the tank, or can I just dump the sand in? I will then plan to seed my tank with live sand from my 25 gallon. I'm thinking of what reef structure I should make out of my rocks. Is it better to have greater surface area of sand? or is it better to have rocks spread out?

You can either leave the rubble under the sand or put on top with the live rock..I like to keep it on top of the sand so i can attach frags to it later on..Dan

I think that the more sand room the better it gives it a more natural look rather than the pile the rock up at the back of the tank look. HTH

Thanks for the suggestions. Wooohoooo, I just finished my stand and put my sand in it. My live rock is still in black plastic garbage can...with PH and heater waiting to go in it..
I'll post pics soon. Regards, Ilham |
