hello people,
i am starting to see green colored bubble like structures (about 5-7mm in size) emerging from my live rocks. what are these? and are there any sites where I can find more information on these.. are these things good ones or bad ones.. please advice. Cheers / Sashi |

Search: Valonia and Bubble Algae you will get TONS of info!!!! The search function is on the top bar, towards the right.
It is a nuisance algae, and can be a real pain in the butt. ![]() |

It's probably Ventricaria ventricosa, a nuisance alga. Just remove them as soon as you see them. Gently twist and lift at the same time to get the holdfasts to release. Try not to break them in the tank if you can. The mature ones will release spores into the water if you accidentally break them.
P.S. -- Valonia ventricosa is now considered a synonym for Ventricaria ventricosa.
