What exactly are you looking to upgrade? From the information you provided, as far as equipment goes, I see that your skimmer is a good candidate for the upgrade.

All else aside, I would consider upgrading from your canister filters to a sump if money was available for an overflow and a sump. One of the filters could be used as a carbon filter or place to put phosphate removing media.
Looking forward to your images, it is always easier to judge a system when you have a visual. ;)
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

for a sump do i have to drill my tank? I was thinking about up grading either my Skimmer or trying to add a Sump if there is a way to do it with out drilling the tank. Whats is a Overflow? I think i have some in my Aquarium Log not sure if you can see that or not. new to posting messages.

    also thanks for your reply.

Here's what overflow for not drilled tank looks like
    CPR CS150 Overflow/Prefilter: Premium Aquatics

And no, you won't have to drill your tank to add a sump. It is much easier to set up a sump with drilled tank but it is not necessary.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

So if i want to add a sump i will need to have a overflow right? is there anything else i will need? Im not really up on what a sump does but really want to add one to the system. So suggestion should i get the sump done then a new skimmer or skimmer first?

    thanks again for your help.

A sump will be a great addition. A sump not only increases water volume, but it gives you a place to keep your skimmer, heater, and other equipment.

Here is a picture of part of my old sump:

    And my new sump:

Oh, I use the same type of overflow on my 90 gallon tank that Zhenya linked to above.

Nice but my tank is in my living room only space i have would have to be under the tank and that looks like it takes up a lot of space. Is there a place i can get direction on how to put together a sump? Or will u mentor me on my REEF, lol and help me with this sump.

Re: Need suggestions on Upgrades to Reef

I live out in vegas and with summer knocking on my door do you think a AQUANETICS Chiller 1/6 HP would be a good addition? I keep the air condition set at 78 degrees in my living room but not sure how hot tank will get with MH light. I know a person selling a Aquanetics chiller 1/6 HP for $250 is this needed and a good deal.

    thanks once again

If you live in Vegas.... get in touch with Southbayphoto here. Mat has been in the process of setting up a 90 gallon tank, can't live THAT far from you.

Do a search here using "sump" and when you get a basic idea down, I'll be happy to help you with idea's.

That first pic I posted is a 30 gallon tank under my stand, the second pic is in my basement! ;)

Re: Need suggestions on Upgrades to Reef

I just realized i can't put a sump under my tank, have no room to get it under with out moving the tank and putting it in from the back. Im going to delay the sump till next month and make room next to the tank for Sump. Im going to try and get in touch with Southbayphoto. thanks

You're welcome! In that case, add a better skimmer.
