Well, its been a while, so let me re-introduce myself- im Saltee- I had a 24 gallon reef about a year ago, but I had to tear it down under unfortunate circumstances. The last year has been full of me wanting another reef BAD. Now I have my second chance- I am now back on the mini-reef scene with a freshly set up 5 gallon Eclipse Hex system. As of now it has no animals yet, I just set it up about six hours ago. I'm forgoing the stock filtration system in favor of a SeaClone 100 Protien Skimmer that has been lying around collecting dust. The stock bulb is a 5700k 10 watt PC, but i'm planning on upgrading to a 25 watt 10000k Coralife bulb. Note on that- the label in the hood says not to exceed 15 watts- is that a good idea?
I plan on keeping a few SPS corals and mabey a T. Crocea, any thoughts on that?
Does anybody have any experience with this system? I've got more than enough time to devote to this system, so i'm up to the challenge. If anybody has any thought or comments at all, I glady await your comments. Happy Reefkeeping!
