    Question Help Please Abnormal Fish Behavior

    I brought a small Naso home yesyterday. Woke this morning to find it rapidly pacing back and forth. Breathing heavily and exibiting rapid jerky tail movement.

    Water is OK. All other fish are quite happy.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks

    Joe

    Hi Joe

    Can you give us some more info about your tank? What parameters you have checked? and what they are....How big is your tank? how long has it been setup? How many lbs of LR and LS? how many other fish? How big are they? And espcially as much info about the tang! What are you using for current? I have heard of this before from o2 deprivation I believe. If you arent getting enough current in the tank then this could be a problem....You have any powerheads? if so how man? What are you feeding the tang? Nori? Do you use vitamins or supplements such as garlic or zoecon, or selcon? The more variables you give us then the better chance we have of narrowing it down to what it could be Did you quarantine the fish before putting in to your tank? If not do you have a hospital tank? Check for cloudy eyes on the fish....and also look all over his body for small white cottony spots, if you see any then you have a case of "ICK" which if its not too bad I would just feed Nori soaked in garlic extract and eventually this could fix the prob.

    scubadude,

    Most of my equipment and livestock info is in my profile. I just re-entered it. Must have gotten lost in the software upgrade. Not enough room for everything but you will get the idea.

    Water para. are.
    Amonia = 0
    Nitrites = 0
    Nitrates = 0
    Phosphate = .001
    Calcium = 450
    Magnesium = 1400
    Kh = 9
    Ph = 8.21
    Temp. = 79.9

    The other fish including the Tangs don't seem to be bothering him. No visible signs of desease or parasites. He has calmed down now. Maybe the snowflake scared the heck out of him this morning. Feeding Nori and he is pecking at the rock.

    Problem no longer seems to be a problem.. Just never seen a fish that stressed out in my tank B-4.

    I'm running out of wind.

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Question

    From reading your profile it says you have: 1 Yellow Tang-2 Purple Tang-1 Naso Tang

    Could it be you have too many tangs in your 110g?
