Are hermit crabs bad at eating snails? Should I even consider them in a 10 gallon nano or should I just go all snails?

I have several Types of hermits and usually unless the snail is weak or sick, they can usually knock the hermits off them. Also I have not observed hermits actively seeking out snails, just occasionally bumping into one. How big is your nano Tank? You should not need a whole bunch of either depending on the size. If it is new add a few of each slowly unyil you can determine how many your tank can hold. If crabs have other things to eat, they will eat what is easy and not go through the work of having to force a snail out of his shell.
