RIP anemone

i could not possibly reach its location to feed it, this morning i found it dead on the sand. all my water paramaters were on target, when it moved to the spot i could not reach i tried everything to feed it but my banded brittle star was pretty aggressive at stealing food from him, i would get it as close as i could. the rocks are not movable because the rocks above it were bridged by my montipora and i didnt want to break it. sad day

Re: RIP anemone

Yea sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes they will find an area that makes it hard to feed and hard to see. Some spot flow pointed his way , just enough and not to much , may cause him to move out. They will search out areas they perfer .
What is your tank size and whats used for water flow in there?
What type of food did yuo try and feed?

Re: RIP anemone

tank size is 26 gallon bowfront with 1 korrillia nano and a korrilia1 as well as a hang on skimmers return and a hang on refugiums return flow. i was feeding it silversides for some time and it loved them, then one day it just moved. i had just moved the powerhead to a place i hoped would get it to move, but found its corpse 2 days later.

Re: RIP anemone

Flow sounds good but how are they positioned? And what type of light?
BTA's perfer raw shrimp pieces but if he eat silversides it should work.

Re: RIP anemone

Sorry for your loss I know that feeling I've had a number of anemones hide themselves away where I can't get at them and then die as a consequence.
