We bought a white anemone some time ago, the minute we put it in the tank it went and hid underneath some rock and was never seen again. We recently transferred everything out of the old tank into our new one and there at the bottom underneath the rock was the anemone. My husband said it was dead but since it hadn't disintegrated I'm going with a still alive position.
It is now in the new tank, hiding under a rock which my husband believes it got there because of the current which I don't totally disbelieve, but the clownfish is now happily sitting in it. Yes it's not moving much and it could just be the current but would the clownfish be so happy in there if it was dead. Any ideas would be really, really appreciated. ![]() |

Re: Dead Or Alive?
Chances are it was/is nearly dead as no anemone's are supposed to be WHITE. You can slowly nurse it back to health with regular feedings of krill or silver sides, once it starts to regain its color it may move back into the light. Speaking of lighting, what kind of lights do you have?
Oh, and if your clowns are hosting in it, then it is still alive... |

Re: Dead Or Alive?
Hi we have Metal Halides and T8s.
The Anemone was definitely white when we bought it although I believe it has a more translucent quality now in it's base but the tentacles and very white. The clownfish definitely hosting in it so good to know it's still with us. Last edited by H2oGirl; 07-06-2008 at 02:24 PM. Reason: trying to attach photograph |

Re: Dead Or Alive?
Managed to snap a photo of the clown and anemone, not a wonderful pic but thought you might like to see it.

Re: Dead Or Alive?
Yup, definitely still alive! It is bleached though... Make sure to offer daily spot feedings of krill and or silver sides and I think it will come around.

Re: Dead Or Alive?
No problem! I hope the anemone recovers well for you.
