Small Thing Over Looked
I'm in the middle of an upgrade from 120 gal. tall to 150 gal. tall and over looked a temporary lighting fixture for the 150. My question is do I have to lighting on a tank to cycle it or will room lighting be enough.

Re: Small Thing Over Looked
You can get by without lighting while you are cycling your new tank. The only reason you would need lighting would be to keep alive any photosynthetic animals or desirable macroalgae on the live rock. As a matter of fact, many people prefer to cycle a tank without lighting for the first couple of weeks to reduce the risk of nuisance hair algae.
