Talking Anybody for some eye candy?

Went to my local fish store yesterday and snapped some shots. These are few that I had a chance to quick post process. Enjoy!

More...? OK, You talked me into it...
Couple more..

I'll update this thread with some fish pictures as soon as I can process them.

Tim,
The store is located in North Plainfield on Rt.22 East. The name of the store is Ocean Gallery II. If you ever decide to go visit tell them that Gene sent you.

Re: Anybody for some eye candy?

SPS usually polyp out at night until they get used to "captive" life. Since these images are from a LFS there is no way of knowing how long they have been in a tank.

As for seeing polyps, it is true that the majority are not, but I see polyps on several pieces, especially the monti.

Do you have some SPS pics with the polyps showing Lance? If so, are they from your tank, or a LFS?

Re: Anybody for some eye candy?

I think the corals look really healthy, but what do I know??? I am kind of a rookie at this type of coral. The colors are very good, wouldn't that be a good sign of health?????????
I will give you odds that there may be a flow issue in that particular tank. JMHO

Re: Anybody for some eye candy?

Guys, there is no need to argue. The reason for polyps not being extended is that most of the colonies were just couple of days in this tank.

They usually begin to show polyps after few days/week.

Hey Gene,

What camera you using from those shots it must be a real beauty, and of course the mastery of the cameraman is without question.

Thank you kindly for your compliments!

My set up is quite simple, really. I have Canon 350D(which is a Rebel xt) and for the shots above I used EF-S 60mm f2.8 macro lens. My camera is rather old and in need of upgrading but I keep putting it off until I get more "L" quality glass.

Re: Anybody for some eye candy?

I must apologize for resurecting this old thread but I found some more images that were shot on a different card as RAW files. I finally processed them and converted them to .jpeg files. Hope you like results. Had to do something this morning, so I cleaned all my lenses, sensor, and found that extra card in the bag...

Same fish but a tad closer.

I remember this copperband making an incredible recovery once placed in a reef tank from the holding tank where he was basicaly on the way out.

And few random shots that I thought came out OK.
