Flatworm research - be a part of it

Hello REEFLAND Aquarists,

I am conducting flatworm research at Hofstra University in Hempstead New York and I need your input. Please check out the survey I created to document flatworm infestations. Your answers will be included my graduate research, and I will make available a distribution map that will document the extent of reef tank infestations across the United States.

Re: Flatworm research - be a part of it

Hi Drew,

The most common nuisance flatworm found in reef tanks is Convolutriloba retrogemma and it is reddish brown in color. In fact, its color can vary from orange to red to brown but never green. I'm not sure which species you're referring to that is green. If so, I doubt that it is commonly found in reef aquariums.

I think your survey questionaire could be expanded a little. You really aren't asking many questions at all.

A search on the various boards using the term "Flatworm eXit" will yield numerous reports from hobbyists who have tried Salifert's product with various levels of success.
