Lil Creature I saw

While admiring my tank today
I noticed this lil white thing.
It was the size width of a HAIR strand. maybe 1/4 inch long.
It was White
It moved like a millipeed,
Anyone ever seen something like this?
I watched it for 10 min movin around on the rock and then disapeared into a small small small hole in the rock..
Any Idea of this creature?

Thanks
Skott

PS this Creature CANNOT be seen in a pic its too small to even attempt to get a pic of it..

I would say a worm of some sort. Possibly a bristle worm if you said it was moving like a centipede. Good thing to have.

I agree, some type of worm. Was it segmented with little legs on the sides? If so prob some bristle worm. Otherwise might be a spaghetti worm or some other. In any case it is a benefical creature for your live sand/rock. I'm sure there are many many more you can't see!

other than being the width of a hair it sounds like an amphipod like the one in reefhawks pic. copepods are much smaller

Skott,
I have the same thing in my tank. I tried to identify them but could not get any answer beyond some type of worm. They used to be white as you described. Yesterday as soon as the lights went off a few hundred came out onto the glass on one side of the tank. Now they appeared pink. They seem to collect in the top corner. Don't look like any of the pictures posted in this thread.
How big to bristle worms get?

I've seen the little fellas hair size also. I think they are the babies of the pods or worms. I know I dont have any fish babies so they have to be the sand critters. The pods are just specs on the glass to start with, The bristle worms are tiny hairs and swim kinda squiggly.
The best time to see em for me is about 1.5 to 2 hrs after all lightsd gp out.

Fishkid, sometimes it takes a while for them to populate the tank. But rest assured, if you have LR then you have pods! Shine a light thru the tank at night. They are attracted to the light at times. They eat algae so look at a place on the glass that you rarely clean.
