Wanted to buy some to reduce nitrates which is slightly below 20ppm.

Appreciate advise whether I should proceed and any precaution with this stuff such as turning sexual?

I'm afraid that's one that is not imported here. I found virtually nothing when I googled Chlorodesmis hildebrandtii.

If you're already using both Cheato and Gracilaria in your sump, seems to me like you have things under control. You can remove the Chaeto on a regular basis and you can continously feed the Gracilaria to your tank, assuming you have herbivores, such as rabbitfish or tangs.

How large is your tank? Meaning, volume of water in the main display aquarium.

How long has it been established?

How much live rock do you have in the main display aquarium?

Do you have a sand bed in the main display aquarium? If so, what is its depth and composition? Meaning is it fine aragonite sand (coral sand) or larger particle-sized stuff that might be considered "crushed coral?"

Do you have a protein skimmer?

Can you please tell us something about your overall equipment setup as it applies to filtration?

If your aquarium has live rock, a nice live sand bed, a protein skimmer, adequate flow and macroalgae that you are harvesting on a regular basis from the sump, there is a problem somewhere if your nitrates are still above 10 ppm (10 mg/l) unless the tank was just set up within the past couple of months.
