Hitchiker clam? (Pic) |

I noticed a little shell slightly open in my tank the other day. Definitely some form of bivalve hitchhiker. He closed up fast before I could get a good look at him open. Here's a pic. Any ideas what it is?

Awesome hitchiker! I'm no clam expert. I know the more valuable Maxima has flute like the one you have. Flutes are what they call the ridges I think.
I have some clam hitchikers but not at all like yours. Kewl deal Rob!

kinda looks like a t. tevora. It also looks like those scallop shells you find on the beach kinda.

Can't help ya but it's very cool. The only hitcher clams I've gotten are some sort of burrowing clam that has been drilling holes into ( or out of ) my LR. Hope it works out to be a valued addition to your tank. Does look like a scallop of some sort.
