how to frag zenia
my zenia needs to be cut back. Can I just cut it at the base? Can i glue it to tiles to share with other club members?

![]() Welcome to Reefland! I do NOT recommend using glue or superglue gel for xenia. xenia is a soft tissue coral and glue/superglue gel is generally for the hard shell/hard skeleton corals. xenia will slime and release toxins when you cut it (frag it) and therefore should be fragged out of the main tank so not to release toxins in your main display tank. You can take a small bowl and put the mother colony in the bowl w/ some of your tank water and frag it in the bowl then throw the tank water away after the frag process is complete. It may take a while (weeks sometimes) for the xenia to heal and and attach to a base or rock rubble. I recommend the restriction method for fragging of soft corals you can do a search using these keywords "coral frag restriction rubber band" and im sure you will come up with plenty of reading and probably some good pics....Let me know if you dont and Im sure I can dig some up somewhere.
