Shy BTA's
Just had to vent about my BTA's. Have two of them and they both decided being attached to the front of rocks so I could see them was to much to ask. So one is completely out of view unless I pretend I'm 23 again and manuever behind my tank. The other precious little critter is on the side so I have to look through the end of my tank..sigh.
Oh while I'm here, I have read severeal places that a clown will feed it's host. Is this correct or should I also spot feed? Thanks Last edited by chull; 09-01-2008 at 03:59 PM. |

Re: Shy BTA's
Hi Chull,
How long have you had your BTA's? They take some time to acclimate to their surroundings sometimes, the best thing to do is probably let them move around and find the place they like the best. FWIW my BTA was doing the same thing so when it started hiding I didnt target feed it anymore....I think it eventually caught on, and moved (not exactly to the place I wanted...but I think we both came to a comprimise ) Clown fish and their host depends on the type of clowns, what type do you have? Even if they are a match, then its not for sure that they will mate up ![]()

Re: Shy BTA's
Thanks for the reply! Had them for about two weeks now. One has really opened up bigger then I've ever seen and the other is getting there slowly. Currently I have a maroon clown that hops from either of the two bTA's depending on who's open at the time. I feed the clown but have not really had any luck target feeding the BTA's. I think the largest one seems to be moving its tenties around more so I'll have to keep monitoring.
