Royal gramma problems

My royal gramma use to swim around when it was only him and two yellow skunk clownfish in my 90 gallon reef to be. I then added a coral beauty and a yellow tang. Now, a couple weeks later he has a little ich on his tail and fin damage, but those things came up from time to time before the new fish were added and always cleared up within a few days. Now, however, he's hiding in smaller holes and little caves constantly, sometimes lying down. Could it be that he's being bullied by the new fish? If not I don't know what it could be.

Re: Royal gramma problems

In their natural environment Royal Grammas are known for darting in an out of caves in the rock. Now that you have introduced some new fish, it may be hiding out. Things may quiet down within a week or two.

Have you seen any particular fish attacking the Royal Gramma?

If you have marine ich in your tank, that could turn into a serious problem.

Re: Royal gramma problems

Don't worry . Royal grammas can look after themselves, I think your gramma will be fine. It is just letting the other fish know that the cave belongs to it. My gramma also develops marine itch from time to time, but it always clears up.
