dsb with shrimp

Is it even worth my money to buy a kit from ipsf to seed my deep sand bed since I will have shrimp and some hermits in the tank which will eat my fauna? Personally if their gone get eaten I would like to go get that 9 for 99 coral package from jeff, or get a top of the line clean up crew from premium aquatics with a few corals?

peppermints and cleaners, the reason why I worry is because I haven't seen worms and exc.. for awhile, and I think he and maybe me are partly to blame
