If you think that the Copperband has developed at taste, let him finish them off, you will have a well fed fish too. JMHO
Got as small bottle of Joes Juice today and went crazy with it. This stuff works as advertised, does a great job on the little snots. If you have an infestation as I do, the 20ml bottle is not enough though. I will have to get another bottle to finish the job, probably still 100 of them left.Hopefully between this and our Copperband who finally has a little taste for them, we can eradicated the buggers completely and be back on our way again.

I know that it is eating them, but painfully slow. Not sure if I want to wait that long.![]()
Try not feeding the tank for a day and a half or so, the consumption may go up. FWIW, I have never had success with that Joe's Juice, it just spread them around in my tank. I always used Kalk paste.

The problem with not feeding is our Powder Blue gets unhappy.
Today I can still see no remains of the aiptasia that got juiced. Got more coming in tomorrow and plan to ring the bell for round 2.

I could never figure out why I have a ton of them in my overflows but not my sump or two tanks.
People come over and cannot believe it.
That is one of those, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," things!!!!

Oh yea, I do not bother them and they do not bother me.![]()
Anthony Calfo says they are great filter feeders!!! If I remember correctly, I think he had a "refugium" set up with just aiptasia for a while.

Your right, I recall reading that too. It was is Aiptasia filter. To me it is like Caulerpa, also a great filter but way too invasive.![]()
Hey Scott, I have the same problem in my 80, I am waiting for Kevin to get get an Auriga that has a taste for the little guys. It took the last one 3 weeks, but man, he was sure efficient!!!!

Well good news, I have finally gotten rid of all the Aiptasia in the tank! it took three bottles of Joe's Juice and then the Copperband was able to finish the rest of them.Moving back up now!!!
Kind regards,
Gene.

That too is good news Gene! After I killed a tank full of Aiptasia I had a cyano problem but now it is under control. Now everything just looks dirty, but no cyano and no Aiptasia and the fish are still doing great!
Congrats Scott, hopefully you can get things cleaned up and looking good again.

Still got a very long way to go.If it weren't for the fish I would scrap the 75 and upgrade to a 120 and do a lot of things differently, but oh well.

Heck, you could keep the fish in a 100 gallon feed trough while you do the change Scott. What would you be doing differently, the plumbing?

1. Bigger tank.
2. Custom stand that provides for more open space under the tank.
3. More open space under the tank that provides for easier maintenance, specifically the skimmer.
4. Refugium addition for nutrient export.
5. Automate top-off and water changes.
6. Bigger tank.

I see you have bigger tank listed 2 times.
Go for it!!!! With the setup you have down there, it shouldn't be that bad of an upgrade. Considering your carpentry skills, you should have it under control!!!
