    Zoa-Dozers?

Been a bit over a week now with some zoas I got. The last 2-3 days I have noticed my snails 'on them'. Crawling on them, sleeping on them, ... And just now one was actually bulldozing his way through the zoa thickets, like he had a machete carving a path through the jungle. :eek3:

Astrea, Cerith, and Turbo are the culprits! Is this a temporary thing figuring out their changed landscape, or do I need to knock some sense in them??

The only snail type that hasn't done this is my Trochus...

If they are truely astreas, cerith, and turbos then you should be ok. Sundial snails have been known to eat zoas, but usually they are hard to find as they will eat from under the skin of the zoas. You can do a search for sundial snails and find some good pics.

Yeah they are the real thing, just being nutty. I didn't think snails got on corals much. Must be checking out the new 'rocks'. Thanks for the heads up on the sundial snails.

Also look for tiny white spiky things. Although animals can kill off Zoanthids, from my experience nothing kills them faster than infections. I had a sundial on my colony for months and it wasn't able to keep up with the growth. Someone finally told me what they were and I got rid of it.

I totally agree, last summer i lost almost all mine to a white slimy fungus that smelled like something died. Tons of FW dips with furan saved a few bits and pieces for me to grow out.
