    Powerheads

I am looking into getting some Hydor Koralia powerheads. Right now my hardware looks like this:

FOWLR perhaps a few corals later
    90 Gallon 60x18x18
    2" sand
    Not yet enough live rock
    Marineland C-360 canister
    Octopus HB 800S protein skimmer

My clean up crew consists of:

    1 Sally Lightfoot
    1 Coral Banded Shrimp
    2 Mithrix Crabs
    1 Yellow Headed Sleeper Goby
    1 Scooter Blenny
    2 turbo snails
    SOON(ordered):
    1 Pencil Urchin
    20 Nassarius Snails
    20 Cerith Snails
    30 Red Tip Hermit Crabs
    30 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs

My question is.. Does anyone have any experiences with this koralias? Are they decent? With my tank setup, what size should I get? And how many would be sufficient? I've got a few dead spots and need some better flow!

    Re: Powerheads

I use two of the 4's on the wavemaker.

I like them and they are powerful, but they spread out so fast that the flow is knocked down alot.

I had two Seio 15's in my 125g at first, one on each end. I wanted to replace them so I could have a wavemaker setup. So I put a Hydor 4 at each end of the tank. They didn't put out near as much flow as the Seio 15's.

So I put the two Hydor's on one end and one Seio on the other and got the flow I wanted.

I've been running two fours in my 120 gallon tank they are reliable and give a good spread flow - for the price I think they're pretty good. I also have two aquamedic power heads and an ocean runner return pump - I have no issues with my sps - I would recommend them at that price point - clearly the more expensive german models are more powerful but more expensive - you generally get what you pay for in life

Isn't this the truth. I would like to have a Vortech but for the price am happy with our two modded MJ's.
