Looks like you had to much fun. One of these times I will make the run with you. Kevins new tank is looking great, and just think it is still early. What is it going to look like in a year?? Wow.

He was taking bets on which coral on the end of the tank would go thru the waterline. I am betting on the micropthalma!!

    Thanks for sharing, Charlie!
This new tank don't look like a typical new tank, does it?
In most stores they pack so much rock in there it's giving me a headache to look at, not this tank. Let the coral heads take the real estate.... ;)
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

I agree with you Gene. The way this tank is aquascaped, it does allow plenty of room for all the corals to grow. Is this what you had in mind for your new effort????
I personally really like the room at the far end of the tank where the 2 stags are. For that matter, his fishy inhabitants really seem to like it also. When you sit back and just watch, all the fish seem to migrate there rather often.

You know.........................if we make enough noise here maybe Kevin will show up somehow and answer your prayers, and mine too. I know I already have 2 torts, but you just never know when you are gonna need another one.
I am going to reserve a spot for it just in case.

    You guys are nuts...
Kevin probably has secret camera fixed on that tank when Charlie comes calling...
I can barely make out that A.tortuosa but it does look huge and very bright blue. Impressive corals in there, all of them!
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

    Re: A trip to Kevin's

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the nice comments. I reduced the A. microphthalma and A. yongei by 30%-40% before putting them in the current tank. They each completely filled a 70 gallon tank before cutting them back

By spring (read warmer weather) I will begin fragging regularly

    Regards,
    Kevin
PS: I will take some closeups of my favorite corals and post them here soon.

    Gene,
There's 250-275lbs of rock in a 600 4'x8' tank and about 350lbs of live coral. Some of the corals are 12 years old.

    Regards,
    Kevin

    Kevin,
That is the point I was trying to make. For the tank with the footprint of 8'x4'
275 lbs of rock hardly take any space at all and tank looks open and is a pleasure to look at.
Some of those coral heads probably wouldn't fit in my tank even if I removed everything...
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

Yep, I agree. Pictures came out pretty darn good.

That A.formosa is a sight. My purple one(assuming it is the same coral) looks totally different and I think we have to trade to make sure we have the market cornered...
    Kind regards,

    Gene.
