Does it have radiating soft spines on the perimeter of the cup?

I took a look closed and I do see some spines on the edge of the cup.

Cool, you've just found a Button Polyp that has hitchhiked on your live rock. What color is it? THere are many colors of this, but the most common are brown polyps, and green polyps. They will grow and bud off if lots oflight are present. In fact, I just found 3 brown polyps towards the back of my tank on a rock.

we'll so far ive found 3 and they are brown. VERY VERY SMALL. One is visiable but the other two are hidden
1 is all alone and 2 are together, I thought they might be a button polyp but wasnt sure, Man I love thsi hobby i just found Copods running around and a Hitchhiker Sally Lightfoot =) now some cool button Polyps =) these are filter feeders right (Button polyps)? I use DT's for my Flower pot would the extra DT's be eatan by the polyps? i have a pic of one of the polyps its kinda blurry but thats the best the Digtal Cam could do.. |

OH NO!!! I've seen billboards on this all over and I think it's an Invasive Red Imported Fire Ant, I mean Polyp!!! Quickly, remove all of your live rock and ship them to me.
Sorry, couldn't help myself, I saw three CDFA billboards on these stupid ants yesterday and I can't get them out of my mind. ------------------ Kyle Holladay My Fish Site |

Yep,
Little fuzzy but I'd say it's a Zoanthid(genus Zoanthus), commonly known as Colonial Anemones. I've got some growing out of my LR as well. ------------------ One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them. One Ring to bring them all, and in The Darkness bind them. Tahoereefs.com |
