    Thank You

I'm more partial to Notre Dame, am anxious however to see how the gators handle alabama, that one might be worth watching

been licking wounds since FSU was awarded title many moons ago, but still haven't bled to death, been a fan since my freshman year of high school in Stevensville Mi., Montana was a senior at ND back then, oh, how time flies;)

    Hey Charlie,

Quick ?, in the pics you can barely make out a pengium 330, do you think it would be worth anything as far as my reef tank, I was leaning a little more towards a h.o.t magnum 250 as the particle filter as this would sorta act like a powerhead for circulation, let me know your thoughts

I believe it was 93, but could not swear for certain, to much basting since then

To be honest, I would only use either one for carbon. Is there any way you could configure a sump into your system? You could still use either the Penguin or the magnum for carbon, but you would have the added water volume for a little more stability. I am assuming the tank isn't drilled, correct?

I know Montana was gone in 93, I was referring to the title game between FSU and Notre Dame when they had ident. records and ND beat FSU and FSU was awarded the title. Still gets the blood flowing.

Anyway, no the tank is not drilled, and I am trying to configure a sump, got a lead on a rated at 75 gal. wet/dry with overflow box and plumbing, just no pump(bummer)for 50.00, waiting on a call back from selling party.
I do have alot of options available as I currently have no stand and have very successfully in the past worked miracles with cinder blocks and 2 x 10's with a tasteful piece of material wrapped around the thing. So I'm still exploring options, and all advice is welcomed, considered and very much appreciated

Oh, OK, I thought you were thinking he was a senior in '93.

You could modify the wet dry to work that is for sure. If that doesn't come about, look for a 20 gallon!!!!
    CPR makes alot of overflows:
    CPR Overflow Boxes

I use them and I don't have any problems with them. Lots of folks don't like them, but I have had one on my 80 for at least 7 years, and if you use that little Aqualifter pump that comes with, that is the ticket!!!!!

Ah yes, cinder blocks, big boys tinker toys!!!

I just wish they came in colors, Have supported several 90's with this barbaric set-up and the wife always insist upon picking out the fabric to go around it, so it allows her to have a small part in the project, and no she is not home at the moment so it is safe to say that. , is there a all in one test kit that you like or what do you recommend, I will check out the cpr stuff.

Off the subject, I noticed you are located in NW Montana, I have or had family in Victorville, just across the ID state line, I Lived in Boise for sometime and I DO MISS that part of the world, LUCKY YOU(Green with ENVY)

Doesn't carbon sort of strip the essential cool stuff from the water? I know you can use it for a quick polish if needed, but what about the additives that are necessary for the reef tank, Help, need brain food.

I use Salifert test kits, a little on the pricey side, but I like their accuracy. Elos test kits are real close in quality and price!!!

It is nice up here, but there are times when you don't see the sun for a few weeks at a time, it gets to you!!! Of course, that is perfect reefing weather.
If you ever make it back this way, look me up, I'll still be here.

Yes and no, alot of people run carbon 24/7, some only run it for a week or shorter at a time, it is all personal preference.
What type of coral do you want to have in your tank??? Soft coral, not many additives, LPS and SPS, that is when you get into the calcium alkalinity, magnesium.........
The deal is, don't add what you don't test for. Many people will just add stuff on the advice of the LFS. The store just wants you to buy his stuff, and doesn't really give a rats #$% about what you are doing to your system. That said, not all LFS are like that, but you know what I mean!!!

Re: This is for Poseidon, and everyone else of course

Right now, and I am reading alot of stuff here, but I would kind of like a little of both, I love frogspawn, and stuff like that, leathers are cool, so I would have to say a mix, if possible, Mike had mentioned to me on my orginal post that I would be limited with a 4 bulb set up because of the tank size(12" front to back) but I have since located the T5 set-up with a 6 bulb set up that is 36 x 12, Mike had mentioned that due to the depth and the 4 bulb limit I would not be able to successfully keep the SPS. And based on some of the pics I have seen here with only being 12" wide, the larger corals may be out of the pic, due to space. And yes, I know how some LFS's can be, use to deal with a couple down Tampa way, names will not be mentioned.
