Question Adding Live rock

I have an order of 45 lbs. of live rock (Vanisi)coming in tommorow from Jeff's Exotic Fish. I have a 100 lbs of rock in my reef tank which is about 4 months old. I probably know the answer to this question but I am going to ask it anyway can I add the new Vanisi rock to the tank or should I fill a couple of my 15 gallon rubbermaid containers to cure it seperately. I would hate for this new rock to crash my tank. Thanks for your help!

definately place them in the rubbermaid. I'd add a heater and a powerhead for sure, a skimmer if you got one and some lights if you have some to keep anything on the rock alive. HTH

^^ I'll second what HCP said. That much new rock is a bad thing for a cycled tank.

Sker,
I also bought the Vanisi lr from Jeff's. It's been in my 30 gallon curing tank since Thursday. This lr is UNCURED! My ammonia readings are super high. My rock has all turned chalky white. I've been told this is just a phase(I hope).

Sker ~

You definitely have to cure the 45-lbs of Vanisi first before adding it to the tank.

Good luck,
