Corals and the stuff in them

Hi Everyone,
What I mean by "the stuff in them" is the zooanthelle (I think that is what its called and how its spelled)
It is the stuff that uses light to provide food for some corals.
Well my question is this:
Is there a specific range of light that this "stuff" actually does best in.
-Thanks,
CaptK

Rather than post a detailed response, I think I will just link you to this article which covers this topic: http://www.aquarium-design.com/reef/lightingbasics.html
