Recommend a good suppliment for Frogspawn coral -?

    Hey Guys,

I found a nice 3-finger Frogspawn coral today and brought it home to the tank. Can any of you recommend a good water supplement for this coral that you have experience with?

    Thanks,
    CMOS

You don't need to suppliment anyting. What you need to do is to make sure that your Calcium And Alkalinity is close to the level of the NSW.

Do not add anything that you can't or don't test for.

The only supplement for this coral you might want to add is food, like shopped up mysys shrimp or some other meaty fair.
    That's about it.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

    Gene,

Does this coral benefit from some direct feeding, such as using an eye dropper?

I remember reading this somewhere, and that it sometimes helps reduce their tendency to sting nearby corals with their longer tentacles. Thoughts?

All Euphyllia sp. corals happily accept food. My E.ancora (hammer coral) takes whole PE mysys with gusto...

As far as sweeper formation goes, that usually occurs when water flow is really strong. In fact, they prefer gentler water flow and will tolerate different light intensities, according to Eric Borneman;s book Aquarium Corals. Feedings won't prevent stinging if competitors are too close on the substrate, so I recommend giving your new corals some space... ;)
    Kind regards,

    Gene.
