    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

Lost the clown(Brooklynellosis), due to my own ignorance, I have never qt'ed a fish, but now I believe I will start. My 20 gallon tank that was to be the sump will now become the QT Tank. And I'll make other arrangements for the sump, anybody who wants to do some A@# chewing go ahead, I got it coming, He was a really pretty fish.

    Tanks,
    Robert

    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

Sorry to hear of your loss, Robert.
I agree on the use of that 20g you got, use it for the quarantine. You can make a sump out of just about anything, I've seen some nifty rubbermade sumps made pretty cheaply. Not many baffles in them for apparent reasons, but with some live rock in it it could work just fine (live rock baffles ).
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

    Thanks Gene,

Will probably just get another 20 gallon for the sump, they are pretty cheap around here, sometimes free. I've already got a basic backyard drawing of how I was gonna set it up. Hate to waste all that Brain energy that went into drawing it

here is some updated pics of the 55, moved the garden from the front over to an acre of land on the right side of the tank, filled it in nicely.

    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

Yeah I know, the big clump of Xenia is starting to form three very distinct stalks and has other little stalks growing off of them, and one of the zoo polyps has also jumped shipped and taken up residence on the sandbed and had 2 Babies, not pictured, and the GSP is going nuts as well. Not to mention the Colt, it's grown about 2 inches and is starting to branch out quite nicely, Gotta love it. I'm pleased with the progress to date, Thanks for the help

    Charlie,

You just had to go and think about my Xenia.

    Cool

Check out the pic, notice on the lower left of the Xenia, it looks like a little suction cup, I think its trying to attach to the new piece of rock I moved it to, also on the right you can see a new stalk growing off the main stalk, Dig

Keep thinking about it, I'll tell you when to stop.

    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

And since we all know how much Charlie likes pictures, heres some more.
The Center is the Zoo that jumped ship and had babies.

OK, so I went a little nuts, its been raining for the last 2 days, and outside of my resume I had very little to do, by the way Charlie, the resume has been delivered, say a pray or two for me, I did this several years ago when I lived in atlanta and all I got was you are over quailfied, Go Figure.

Any way heres Charlie's eye candy.

    Tanks
    Robert

P.S. Charlie, I figured if you saw a picture of the Urchin you might change your mind

I was only kidding about the urchin, I found him a home up the street at one of my lfs, he want him, so I will be dropping him off today or tomorrow. Gonna sorta miss the guy, he wasn't bad, just got to big, turned into a bulldozer,

Got a postive id on the crab(s) I mentioned several pages back, I've got 3 known gorilla crabs. Will be trying the old jar trick later tonight as soon as the daylight bulb goes out, Hopefully I'll get all 3 at once.

    Wish me luck

    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

    Here is the weekly update,

Thanks to Charlie's mental thinking about my xenia, I felt obligated to post some pics. The last pic is a shot of a creature I inquired about a few months ago, as it turns out it is actually a gorg. notice the 3 stubs it will brach out, it is very, very young currently. As you can see the leather has grown nicely and the xenia, thanks to Charlie's telepathic abilities is doing nicely

    Here's to you Charlie.

    Tanks,

    Robert

    Re: Parrothead's 55 gallon Reef

The only problem I have is I need to dig some base rock out and put the xenia on it so I got something to frag, any other ideas?

Sorry man, I was just giving you a ration!!!!

Grab some rubble from your LFS and just set it near some of your xenia, you will have plenty of xenia, believe me.

Need help, here's a couple of pics of some worms I have all over in my tank, been seeing them alot during the day, and I'm sure they are all out at night.

    Are they good or bad?

    And what are they called?
