Exclamation Newbie wanting some advice and info

I just started a new saltwater tank about a month ago. I have an ocellaris clown, and want to know if a bubble tip anemone will be a match for him. I have a condy anemone, but I now know that a false percula clown fish usually does not match with it.

Also, where can I purchase a bubble tip anemone for a good price?

    Thanks!

Molly, what size is your tank? What kind of flow do you have?

I have a Seaba clown hosting in a bush of Xenia and it has done that for at least 2 years or a little over. It did not start out that way, immediately....but it did adjust.

Tank size is critical because if it is too small, the two anemones could wind up basically killing each other. Also, some anemones are not really good beginner animals to keep. I have been in this hobby for about 4 years. I bought one anemone not too long ago thinking it would handle the frag tank. Well, I ended up throwing that money out the window because the anemone died. Hard lesson learned.

Well, if I do get a bubble tip anemone, then I have another tank I could put the condy anemone in. My condy never has any issues being in the tank, so I think a bubble tip would do just fine! My boyfriend is into fish tanks so he pretty much takes care of mine for me. He has been into the hobby for about three years now. I know ocellaris clowns have to have a certain kind of anemone that they can adapt to, so I want to know if a bubble tip will be a match. My tank size is a 24 gallon. It is a nano cube, and they have the moon lights for night time and a canopy with HQI lights for the day time. The nano cube is made for saltwater because of the ligthing and when used with freshwater they create excess algae.

Please let me know if you do have any other information reguarding my false perc clown fish and the bubble tip anemone.
Thank you for the information you have already provided!

A 24 gallon is awfully small for 2 anemones like that. If you ask around, you will find that clowns will host in almost anything (clams, sarcophytons, mushrooms, xenia, etc). I would think, too, that they would learn to host in your carpet anemone.
