I was just wondering does a DSB need light to work, I have a sort of sump, and I was thinking about putting a DSB in there, I could put some kind of light in there if that would help, also would putting some Cauplra(sp), in the tank help the DSB.
Thanks Michael |

If you put caulerpa there, it will definately need light. I've heard about people putting anywhere from 7 watts to 250 or more watts over their sump. The more you have the faster the caulerpa grows. Some of the detritivores like to hang around the green stuff. Amphipods, copepods and other critters actually eat the algae. Other invisible critters suck the juices from the algae. Therefore, caulerpa is good!
