Check out this.
A friend sent these to me.
This is off the coast of Mexico, near the northern tip of Yucatan Peninsula.
There were supposedly thousands of them.

Amazing. Hope they aren't migrating to my tank. ;-)
It's amazing shots, thank you for posting them!
It appears that this species migrate twice a year, north in the late spring and south in late autumn.
Some more info here
Kind regards,
Gene.

Beautiful shots! Man, what a sight to see. I'd just hate to be in the water when a pack of those came by. :O
I havent looked at the tread about them but,
It is supposedly a bi annual thing that they do and this is just a cluster out of several and no ones sure exactly where they go but they don’t remain in that tight of group once they pass that point from what i am told.

I caught one of those by the tail once. It was only about 6" in diameter, but they are surprisingly strong swimmers. It also didn't feel like I expected. I was expecting a slimy somewhat soft animal and what I felt was a rough and tough one...kinda like leather. Their mouth is really cool too. It's a really neat fish.
Awesome pictures too!
Some times when i have been on scuba and not paying attention i have had a of very large bull ray or two go over the top of me.
The first time that one had no tail, something bigger had bitten it off, that was about thirty years ago in NSW and the last time it had a stinger on it and that was about three years ago.
You turn around thinking it is one of the other divers and you are covered by one of these, talk about ruining your wet suit and using ten minutes of air in two seconds.
The first time i was distracted trying to get a blue swimmer crab and the next i had my head under a rock ledge.
Some of those a very chunky!!
