aandtsociety boat trip for collecting aquarium species

    I absolutely love this spot.
We used to come here nearly every weekend 10 to 20 years back and it hasn’t changed much.
We get out there about 2 times a year these days.
For safe snorkelling, collecting, down to fifty foot scuba diving, spear fishing, non serious fishing, nothing beats this reef.
On a calm day we would sometimes get dropped off here and swim onto the reef and take our lunch, shade, chairs, towls, what ever onto it and have a very good half day relaxing, collecting, photographing and interacting with leopard sharks, turtles, the local massive stingray and sometimes an over friendly albatross will bother you for food or try to do something rude with your snorkel as it tried with Danny.
The photos are of a 2008 trip out there and as usual we had a ball.

    Nice humpback whale picture.

Check this out!!! Okay, it's not a whale, but it is a whale shark!

    That is so cool!!

    What a cutey.

We went out in Daves boat last year to get photos of the rock pool.
Paul and co were taken around the front of the reef,we were droped off and swam in to the reef for the pics.

This is what they dived with while we played in the most incredible rock pool.

These creatures have not been seen out here for near on thirty years.

Oh,at certain times of the year the humpbacks around here are like flies, they are every where.

It wasnt that long ago that one breached right in front of the boat and it was very close to hitting us and that day we were in a very small boat.

Personaly we see so many of them they are not that geat for us to see,as there are very big sharks normally near by them as the big ones feed off them and there young.

One of the guys watched as a tiger and two white pointers got into a full grown adult off frazer island two years back and the smaller shark of the three was over eighteen feet long, there are some very big sharks and sightings that are never reported here.

They thought it was a huge tiger shark to begin with as they used to be common at this reef.
