Here r a few pictures of my 55 gal reef tank I just started and so many of you gave me advise on just thought I would share some pics.I built the sump out of a 20 gal long tank it has three compartments first filled with live rock second has a sea clone protien skimmer ,and a heater. Then there is a micro bubble wall and finally the sump section with a 800 gph return that didnt satisfie my return against the overflow so I also added a inline pump half way on the return to increase the flow rate and keep up with the overflow which I built myself and am quite proud of I found a caddy carrier at walmart that had three sections two on one side and one on the other cut the handle out of the center of it and made plexiglass hanger with nylon screw adjustments found some fittings at the local hardware store.I have two power heads one at each end of display tank one has a flow rate of 375 gph the other is a 175 gph I have fine white sand about 5 inchs deep on one side to about 2 inchs deep on the other side a large pile of liverock out of my 125 gal that has been running about 3 years with lots af little critters liveing in it I also have a 400 watt MH I plan on adding to the tank But I have been thinking power compacts my be a better option on this tank.![]()
