Green water

So my tank was set up in january and last month the filtration system lost power for a few days while i was on vacation. All my fish and coral were still alive but the water turned very green. I did water changes and it went back to being clear, but now it's green again. Anybody have any idea why this is and what I can do to stop it?

things anyone here would need to know to help are;

what are you using for filtration? are you skimming? do you grow macro algae?

what is your source water?

water test results?

how much water are you changing and how often?

that should help identify the issue.

i have an oceanic biocube so for filtration it's just a fliter pad with carbon in it, and it also has bio balls.

for water i get RO water from a local store and add salt

all of my water test results are within normal limits--i checked pH, amonia, nitrate, nitrite, and all that good stuff.

and for water changes i have been doing about 30% every two weeks.

If all other parameters look good a few hours of running carbon should clear up the water.
