    I need a new CUC...

OK, I was going to buy a CUC from reefcleaners, but it's been almost 5 days since I requested a reccomended crew and no reply. So I'm looking for a new CUC source and a recomended CUC for my 36gal. tank.

Right now the only things in there are a few cap snails, mini-stars and the obvious worms. I'd like them to to do the job, but also not do the job so well that there is nothing left to sustain them.

Yea Tim, I wouldn't keep a cucumber in my 75 either if I had it running. I just need a clean up crew like Charlie clarified.

When I go to the LFS to purchase snails it just says snails. What type of snails do I most likely have?

Re: I need a new CUC...

My experience with John Maloney at Reefcleaners is that he can get backed up on the CUC requests. Its a two man crew, John and hos brother, and the custom requests take some time, and when he gets a lot he can get behind. I had this discussion with him when my request too a long time.

Having said that, no one has better service after the sale than Reefcleaners. My first order through them, I had a problem with one of the critters and wrote to ask them about it. Next thing I know I had a refund for the whole order.

    Reeftopia is very good too.

I'm not going to bash John here, but he does post on my local club site, and after 6 days w/ no answer, He lost my business and I'll move on.

Re: I need a new CUC...

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to share my experience with John Maloney of reefcleaners. First I requested a recommended CUC and finally got an answer after 2 weeks. So I end up ordering exactly what he recommended. After ordering it on a Saturday he ship the CUC after 2 weeks and received it in 3 days.

I followed all the acclimation procedure and put all the CUC in my tank. Two days after I emailed John saying that the florida cerith are all dead and not moving as well as some Nassarius Vibex. All he said is sorry to hear that. Then I emailed him back again and say majority of the vibex are all dead as well. Then he replied back sorry again. I emailed him back again because I'm having an issue about my nitrate and dying fishes. He will just reply and try to find some excuses.

Reefcleaner sucks. It will kill all your livestock because of dead CUC. Nitrate Problem.

Two sources that I highly recommend for clean-up crew items are Reeftopia and Inland Aquatics.

Re: I need a new CUC...

    Hi Ninong,

Thanks for recommending those two, I will check them out. I wish I posted and ask for recommendation first before buying my CUC's. I won't recommend reefcleaners.org because John Maloney will send you dead CUC's. Lot's of them are empty shell as well. I just end up re starting my tank all over again because of the dead CUC my nitrate spike up so high. I tried doing water change as much as I could but I can't lower the nitrate fast so I end up with 5 dead fish.

Anyways I always read your post and reply's and I found you to be very reliable and very experience in this hobby.

    Thanks,

    sfreefer

Re: I need a new CUC...

sorry about the custom cuc turn around time. We post on the site that it is normally a five day turn around on that service. I do them all by hand and we get a lot of questions we go through. I have to limit it to certain days. All other emails should get answered in 24 hours though. Anyway, sorry you had trouble, if you email me about I will be sure to fix it.

    john
