if an anenome dies...
i heard a rumor once that if an anenome dies in your tank it can kill everything... is this just a rumor? I have 2 bubble tips and i'm really paranoid now - i know they're impossible to move - if one dies will i be able to remove it before it disentigrates?

Reefmack,
I know for a fact that when anything dies in your tank it isn't good. I would worry to much abou the anmeone, how long has it been since it died? Joe |

an anemone depending on its size can cause a nice ammonia spike if it starts disintegrating. If you know its dead i would try to scoop it out with a bowl or small plate in order not to disturb it and have pieces everywhere...hth

well - my anenome hasn't died yet - and even looks healthy. but everywhere i hear is that they are impossible to keep and have very short lifespans in captivity - so i'm just trying to be proactive.... it's so IMPOSSIBLE to move them when they're alive because of the way they attach (and retract) in the LR so I was worried they'd be hard to remove if they died...
any success stories out there about keeping anenomies?? BTA's especially... |
