Those were thru May of 2008.
I thought this might be an interesting way to follow the growth progress of my Emperor. I went back to April of 2007, when I purchased this guy. I skipped all the way to January of 2008, and the rest of the pics go from there. Hope you enjoy the progress as much as I did!!!

Charlie,
Looks like he started his change in august 08, the yellow started popping, he still looks like he's got aways to go looking at the 5/09 pics, How big was he when you first got him? He is a very nice fish, and speaks highly of your tank careas angels require only the best
.
Tanks,
Robert
He was maybe 1.5-2" when I got him.
Thanx for the compliment.![]()

The Waikiki Aquarium has an adult emperor angelfish in their outdoor reef aquarium. I posted pics of it here on Reefland a few years back, but, alas, those pics were lost during one of our many "upgrades." Lost but not forgotten.
Ninong
I pretty much know what it will look like, but I am really enjoying the changes that he is going thru to get there. I can't remember having a fish that morphed before, this is kind of exciting.

He's a beauty!!!![]()
It's a great fish, Charlie, congrats!
As far as coral eating, I doubt your tort is in any danger. I would be more worried about LPS types with this one. I know they love to tear up fleshy corals, so your acros may be safe. ;)
Kind regards,
Gene.

I really wish that I could keep him better fed Gene. I think he is "disturbing" my torch coral. I am undecided as to leave the coral in there to divert his attention, or take the coral out?????? I have 2 more hammers and a froggy in there too.![]()

Great looking fish Charlie! A Showpiece for sure.
I have to tell you folks, it was really enjoyable putting this thing together. I am thinking of doing this for a few of the corals in the tank too. Pictures come in so handy!!!!!

hey Charlie,
thanks for the tank tour last night, everything (except the torch) looks good!! i hope there is some other reason for the torch's appearence but i would be worried about the rest of your LPS if you take it out and the Angel has been eating it![]()
you can alway buy more hammer frags from me when it gets hungry......
Charlie, as you probably know already, Pomacanthus angelfishes can and will attack your cnidarians, other inverts and bully smaller fishes...
That is just something you need to be willing to live with if you want to keep this fish. I would look into getting some sponges for him to eat, too, I think there are some dried up variety available for the angels this days that we didn't have before. (Like the early eighties).
Kind regards,
Gene.
